Justin Bieber's status as one of the world's most bankable pop stars appears to be in doubt after his cover for the February issue of Vanity Fair failed to entice regular readers. The 'Bieber' issue is on-course to become one of the lowest selling magazines in the publication's history, according to Wwd.com.
Despite his sell-out concerts and 11 million Twitter followers, it seems the 'Baby' hit-maker doesn't help sell magazines. The Vanity Fair cover, which features the 17-year-old adjusting his tie while covered in lipstick kisses, has reportedly only sold 246,000 copies according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations Rapid Report. The pop stars recent covers for People Magazine and Teen Vogue are also said to have recorded underwhelming sales figures. Last month Justin Bieber was ranked number-two on the Forbes list of the Best-Paid Celebrities under 30 - reportedly earning $53 million over a 12 month period from his promotional deals, albums and live tours.
Justin Bieber's album 'My World 2.0' debuted at number-one of the U.S. Billboard 200 upon its release in November 2009. The record shifted 283,000 copies during its first week of sales, making Bieber the youngest male solo act to top the charts since Steve Wonder in the 1960's.
