Jon Bon Jovi performs and Kevin Jonas attends the Police Foundation gala

Jon Bon Jovi wowed guests with his performance at the 33rd annual Police Foundation Gala Thursday night held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. The event attracted a celebrity guest list which included Kevin Jonas and Michael Douglas in order to raise much needed funds for the New York City Police Department. The New York City Police Foundation is the only fundraising organization for the police department. The money raised from the event goes directly towards public safety in the city.

Raymond W. Kelly, Police Commissioner: “Most anywhere there has been a major terrorist attack in the last four years there has been a senior officer from the NYPD at the scene, assembling lessons learned for New York. . .This is the type of measurable return on investment the Police Foundation is providing the people of this city.”

The 33rd annual Police Foundation Gala celebrated the New York City Police Foundation’s 40th anniversary while treating guests to a live performance by Jon Bon Jovi. In addition to Jon Bon Jovi wowing the crowd, guests enjoyed a heartfelt speech by Michael Douglas. Guests of the event included Penny Marshall, Kevin Jonas, Host Charlie Rose, Speaker of the New York City Council Christine Quinn, Regis Philbin, Joy Philbin, Chevy Chase, Veronica Kelly, Dorothea Hurley and the iconic Jimmy Buffet. Ronald O. Perelman was honored at the event for his tireless dedication to the New York City Police Department.
